Michael Jordan was born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn New York, but his family decided to move to North Carolina when he was still a toddler. He was an American professional basketball player for the NBA. He is 6.6 feet tall and weighs 216 pounds. His favourite subject in school was math and he attended to the University of North Carolina. Michael Jordan was actually cut from his basketball team in high school. He won Sporting News college player of the year in 1983, 1984.

Michael Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls and he was number 23. In 1991 he averaged over 30 points, over eleven assists, and made 55% of his shots in the 91 finals. Michael Jordan played for the NBA for 14 Years. He won NBA's most valuable player 5 times and 6 times led the Chicago Bulls to the league championships. On July 23, 1993 his father was murdered. Two locals robbed him, shot him in the chest and threw his body in a swamp. In 1993 he stunned his fans by retiring from basketball, partly because of his father's death. He retired from basketball at age 33 and decided to try baseball, but In 1995 Michael Jordan came back to the Bulls.

His nickname was Air Jordan because of his airness; he could jump higher than most of the other players. MJ owns about 100-150 suits and owns even more pairs of shoes! Michael Jordan doesn't have a family member taller than 6 feet. The reason MJ wore number 23 is because he couldn't wear number 45 because his brother wore number 45 so, he wore the number he considered to be half of 45. Michael Jordan has 2 older brothers, 1 older sister, and a younger sister. MJ wore his North Carolina shorts under his Bulls uniform for good luck.

Michael Jordan is my hero for many reasons. He was the best basketball player in the world, He never gave up, and he always worked hard at everything he did. MJ wasn't greedy with his money. And he always found time to spend with his family; all these things make Michael Jeffery Jordan my hero.
