Michael Jordan

I believe that Michael Jordan is the best basketball player that ever lived. He is an inspiration to people everywhere. He has also helped the NBA become the fantastic organization it is today. He set many records and is now in the hall of fame.

Michael Jordan now lives in Los Angels, California. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963. In high school he was cut from the basketball team in South Carolina. Jordan enrolled for college in 1981 at the University of South Carolina. He won the NCAA Division 1 championship in 1982 by making the game winning basket against Georgetown. He was also the college player of the year in 1983 and 1984.After his junior year at college Michael joined the NBA and was quickly drafted by the Chicago bulls.

Jordan quickly showed he was here to stay by scoring an average of 28.2 points per game in his rookie year, earning him the NBA Rookie of the Year award and having the honor of playing in the all-star game. Jordan won MVP four times in the years 1991, 1992, 1996 and 1998. In 1993 his father was killed while being robbed. That tragedy led to the end of Michael's basketball career, but began his baseball career for the Chicago White Sox as an outfielder. In 1995 Jordan returned to his basketball career. In 1996 a great thing happened to Michael. He won MVP again for the fourth time on Father's Day, "it was like a tribute to his father."

Michael Jordan has personally inspired me because even through all the obstacles in front of him, he still became a tremendous athlete. He is a true icon in the world of sports. Another thing I admire about him is that he never took steroids. That to me makes him a true athlete. I try to follow in his footsteps to becoming a great person and athlete someday. I also hope to have a super cool clothing line just like him.

In my eyes, Michael is and forever will be the best basketball player that ever lived. He is like a god among mortals and no other basketball player will ever live up to his greatness. I think most people would agree with that, although some might not see it that way if they dislike him or have a different opinion. Overall, Michael Jordan should be a hero to everyone.
