Michael Jordan

Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. Son of Deloris and James R. Jordan Sr., Jordan moved to Wilmington, North Carolina as a toddler. He grew up there and attended Elmsley A. Laney High School.

Jordan is my hero for many reasons. He is skilled, smart, strong, talented, generous and also caring. As an NBA player Jordan has won six NBA championships and won the finals MVP award all six championships. He won the NBA Slamdunk contest twice, in 1987 and 1988, also competed in 1985. He is a five time NBA Most Valuable Player and also won an Olympic gold medal

Jordan made a difference in many people’s lives. Michael donates money to a bunch of foundations and fulfills kids' dreams. He is involved in the $1 million program to benefit teachers and help them make a difference in school, as well as various charities, including The Boys and Girls Club, College Funds, Make a Wish Foundation, Special Olympics and many more.

Michael Jordan played an outstanding NBA career from 1984-2003. And, he still donates to the community and to the NBA. This is why Michael Jeffrey Jordan is my hero.
