Michael Jordan was the best basketball player of all time. Michael Jeffery Jordan was born on Feb. 17, 1963 in Brooklyn N.Y. He grew up and went to school there. His sophomore year in high school, Michael didn’t make the Varsity basketball team, but that didn’t stop him from playing basketball. He went to college at the University of North Carolina and played basketball for them. In 1984 he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls. His Rookie year he was named MVP.

Right away Michael became a fan favorite. Then in 1990, MJ won his first NBA Championship and was voted as an All-Star. Jordan and the Bulls continued their dominance in the 1991- 92 seasons. MJ broke his foot his second season but he still would work out and shoot around, because he didn’t want that injury to stop him from basketball.

Another reason why Michael Jordan is a hero, is that he isn’t selfish with his money like other celebrities are. He always gives back to the community. He opened a Boy’s & Girl’s Club in Chicago, Illinois called “James R. Jordan Boy’s & Girl’s Club”. Also, in the Boy’s & Girl’s Club Jordan lets the kids play basketball, and do their homework or just relax. It provides free food for them and they get help on their homework when they need it.

Those were my 3 reasons why Michael Jordan is my hero and why I want to be like him. Also because of his his Legacy that he left and that will not be forgotten on the way he changed basketball because now everyone is trying to play like him and trying to do the moves that he did. My last reason why he is my hero was the hard work he did to be the best that he was in basketball.
