My hero is a strange, and unique person, his name is Michel Latito. Michel was born June 15th, 1950 and passed away on June 25th of 2007. Michel's nickname was "Man-Eat-It-All". He had a very unique power, and that power was eating strange objects such as bicycles. Michel is my hero because he was very different and strange but I think his power was pretty cool.
You would think that Michel would have become very ill from consuming all the metals and chemicals he did, however, his stomach was a lot thicker than the average human and that enabled him to do what he did without getting sick. A strange thing about him was that metals and chemicals didn't make him sick, but bananas and hard boiled eggs did. When performing, he consumed around 1 kilogram (2.2 lb) of material daily, preceding it with mineral oil and drinking considerable quantities of water during the meal to help it go down and come out without a problem.
The strangest meal Michel ever ate took him 2 years to consume. He started in 1978 and finally finished in 1980. The meal was a Cessna 150 light aircraft. Other than the airplane, Lotito has consumed around 1 ton of metal. Michel does not only eat this stuff for his own entertainment, but he is a French performer, doing it for others' entertainment too.
Michel came to win people's admiration by first chewing glass and proving his resistance to pain. He would invite people to beat him with bats and stick needles into his body. "He disassembled, cut-up, and consumed bicycles, shopping carts, televisions, a Cessna 150, and other items. He began eating unusual material as a child around 9 years of age and performed publicly from 1966."
Michel set a lot of records for Guinness World Records such as, most Ferraro Rocher chocolates eaten in one minute, fastest run 100 meters barefoot on ice, Fastest time to eat a 12" pizza, Strangest diet, Most cockroaches eaten and many more. That shows that Michel Lotito did not just break records by consuming stuff, but he could beat pain such as the cold when he broke the record for the fastest run 100 meters barefoot on ice.
