Malala

by Amaliya from Russia

In my opinion, a hero is someone who is brave, kind, confident, caring, and never gives up. Malala is all those things and many more. She is my hero. She is fighting for equal rights between boys and girls in Pakistan. She thinks girls should get just as much education as boys. She went through so much horror, but that didn't stop her. "They can shoot my body but they cannot shoot my dreams" she says. Here are a few reasons why she is my hero:

One reason she is my hero is because nothing around her could or would stop her: for example, she was judged by many people in her country, but that didn't stop her. Also she received death threats by Taliban, but that didn't stop her either. After a million, deadly threats, the Taliban had enough. They came for her when she was riding home from her school. The Taliban broke in the school bus and shot Malala in the head. In addition, after she recovered, she still had the courage to keep going. A year after Malala was shot her friend from the school bus said, "All my notebooks were soaked with blood. Malala's blood.".

Malala is also a hero because she overcome her inner (bad!) troubles: She went against the other girls in the country. She ignored her fear that she was in when she was in danger. She made it her hobby and job to help the other girls though - it was hard.

It was very heroic that she convinced people to help her: She wrote a book about how all the children should have education. She gave speeches. And she even got a Nobel Peace Prize. She was not mad at the Taliban. "I don't want revenge for the Taliban. I want the sons and daughters of the Taliban to have education." she says.

Overall, Malala Yousafzai did/does everything to give young children education without even thinking of giving up. She is brave, kind, confident, caring and never gives up. Nothing could stop her, no matter what. She overcame her troubles, she convinced people to help her and wasn't even mad at the Taliban for "almost killing her". Whoever would do something like that is a hero. That is something only a hero would do. Malala Yousafzai is my hero.
