My Mom, Maria

In this essay I will be writing about my hometown hero. It is important to recognize unsung heroes because they make a difference in our lives everyday and they don’t get the recognition they deserve. A hero to me is someone who makes a difference in the lives of others. My hometown hero is my mom, Maria. She is a stay at home mom. I chose my mom because she always gives me good advice, she has high morals and she is good hearted.

My mom is a real hero because she’s always giving me good advice. Also, because she is very supportive. My mom gives me good advice by telling me to watch who I hang with and be careful who I trust. She’s very supportive because she respects my decisions and tells me she’ll always be here for me. This is why she’s so supportive and good at giving advice.

Another, good trait my mom has is that she has very high morals. She has high morals because she is very honest. She has no problem with voicing her opinion. Also, because she is loyal. You can depend on her and she won't let you down. This is why my mom has high morals.

Last but not least she is good hearted. She is good hearted because she is always kind to others. One time there was this man who was homeless and was hungry, so my mom gave him some food. My mother is also kind to animals. My dog, cat and rabbit used to be strays until my mom let them live with us. This is why my mom is good hearted.

My mom is my hero because she was and always will be there for me. I learned that a hero doesn’t have to be rich or famous. They could someone who is close to you or makes a difference in your life. I also learned that it shouldn’t matter if others like you. Like my hero said, “No, I don’t care what others think of me. As long as I like myself.” That’s very similar to my saying, “I’d rather be hated for who I am, than be loved for who I’m not.” As, I said in my introduction it’s very important to recognize an unsung hero because they make differences in our lives everyday and they don’t get the recognition they deserve. I believe I achieved my purpose because I recognized my hero the best way I could.
