Tracy McGrady

Tracy McGrady was born in Bartow, Fl, on May 24, 1979. He was drafted in 1997, 1st round, 9th overall. His position is Guard.

Tracy McGrady was the small forward for the Orlando Magic. He is 6ft'8in tall, and he did not go to college; he went straight to the NBA. He used to play for the Toronto Raptors with his cousin, Vince Carter. They did not know they were cousins until a family reunion brought them together.

McGrady is one of the top five players in the NBA. This man can do everything on the court, and he can play every position, except center. He averages over 25 points per game! He scored his career high 50 points in the year 2002. Tracy McGrady will be an NBA star for a long time. McGrady spent the past four years playing in nearly empty arenas with the Orlando Magic, and was almost overcome by the hearty welcome to Houston. McGrady, a two time scoring champion, hopes to find the kind of postseason success in Houston that eluded him in his hometown.

The 26-year-old becomes the fourth defending scoring champion in NBA history to be dealt away, and the first since Buffalo Braves sent Bob McAdoo to the New York Knicks in 1976.

The reason I chose Tracy McGrady is because he has influenced me to practice and play a lot more. He is a devoted player in the sport of basketball.
