“My Hero”

My hero is Mick Fanning. He is a professional surfer, but not only is he a surfer, but he is also my hero. Mick is my hero because he is the one who inspired me to start surfing. When I was about 11 years old I saw this movie that changed my life and brought me to surfing. The video was called “Fanning the Fire”. It was a video about Mick Fanning and his life of how he started surfing, how he got into it and stuff like that. It was like an autobiography. When I saw it, it made me want to go in the ocean and start surfing, and ever since than I’ve been surfing. I’m not very good at it, but I’m determined to get better.

Mick fanning is not only my hero, but he is also my idol. The reason why I still surf is because I want to become just as good as him. I remember last Christmas I saw the movie again and I saw this wetsuit that he was wearing and I thought it was the coolest wetsuit ever. So I went on the internet and was looking for the wetsuit and I finally found it. I put it on my list of things I wanted for Christmas. My dad saw me looking for it, so he looked it up himself to find my size without me knowing. I don’t know how he did it but he did. So on Christmas day I was looking around my gifts to find a good-sized present. Then it happened: I opened that gift, and I saw it was the wetsuit! That was the best feeling I've felt in my life! So anyways, Mick Fanning is my hero and I look up to him.
