My Mom, Mildred

At my dance recital - the Nutcracker Ballet

Mildred was born in Dover, Delaware, and grew up there. She has two jobs! She is an Occupational Therapist and she’s my mom. An O.T.’s job is to work with kids who have disabilities. She is nice, and fun too. She is my hero because she helps kids!

My mom helps kids by doing things that help with their coordination. But of COURSE she makes it FUN!!! She does things like let them swing on a trapeze to build their strength. Sometimes she lets them go over a climbing toy to help with their fear of height. On Mothers Day my mom has them make something to give to their moms. This year they made ornaments to hang on a hanger. She helps kids with disabilities of all sorts!

My mom works with kids from pre-k to 4th grade. She loves her job because she loves working with kids, and she just loves kids and being around them. She cares for me and my brother in many ways. She pays for my dancing lessons and helps me with my ballet! She helps at my school and drives me places! Some times on weekends we make cookies. That is why she is my she is my hero!

Mildred is my hero in many ways. She helps kids with disabilities in lots of ways but she also cares for her family. I love my mom and what she does!
