Nikola Karabatic is a French handball player. He was born in Serbia on April 11, 1984, so he's now 31 years old. He lived between the Croatian and the Serbian culture because his parents are Yugoslav. His father was also a Handball player so he has grown with the love of handball since his childhood. Therefore Nikola had predisposition to become a good player.

Karabatic learnt handball in Montpellier when he was young. His first selection in the French team was in 2002. After he played in several teams, for example in Germany and FC Barcelona. Now, he lives in Paris, and plays in Paris Saint Germain with his little brother : Luka Karabatic who is also a popular handball player.

Karabatic is a really famous player, who plays on back-left or centre-half. He never gives up and he has become a legend. He's already several times Champion of France, double Olympic champion and three-time World Champion with the French team. He was named best Handball player of the world in 2007 and in 2014, and he is also seen as one of the best global players through his physical strength, his technical ability or his tactical intelligence.

I choose this player because I think that he's really impressive, courageous and talented. He can gather people from distant cultures or different social classes around handball because he embodies team spirit and patriotism. This player is a symbol of handball, we will be remembered forever because he is a record holder. Indeed he made the history of France's handball sport and made dreams come true. I'm proud to have a player that like in France and to share France's great values all around the world.
