Natalie Portman

My hero is Natalie Portman. She is a famous actress and has been acting since 1994. I came to learn about her because I saw a lot of movies with her that I really like and I wanted to lean more about her so I researched some information about her and found a lot of interesting things about her I admired.

Apart from being an actress, Natalie Portman is also a graduate from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in physiology. She has won 10 awards for her acting and also got 34 nominations as an actress. She is an activist for animal rights and environmental causes. In 2007, she went to Rwanda to film the documentary Gorillas on the Brink. While she was there, at a naming ceremony, she baptized a baby gorilla named Gukina. She joined World Patrol Kids, which is an environmental song and dance troupe. Natalie is also a member of the OneVoice Movement. She was also a supporter of antipoverty activities. Natalie also traveled to Uganda, Guatemala, and Ecuador as Ambassador of Hope for FINCA, which is an organization that helps businesses owned by women in developing countries in 2004 and 2005. In 2007, she visited many university campuses to inspire students with the power of microfinance and to encourage them to join the Village Banking Campaign to help families and communities out of their poverty. In 2010, all of Natalie’s hard work as an activist and popularity with young people rewarded her a nomination for VH1’s Do Something Awards, honoring those who do good.

Natalie and her family lived in Jerusalem until she was 3 years old. Then her family moved to Washington D.C. in 1984 because her of her father’s medical training and career advancements, and then they moved to Connecticut in 1988. Next, In 1990, they moved to Long Island, New York. That's where she lived until her acceptance to Harvard in 1999, which made her stay In Boston for 4 years. She now lives in Soho, New York City.

Natalie Portman was born June 9th, 1981 and is now 29 years old. She has been acting since she was around 13 years old, which was when she played her first role in a movie. It was different to be studying and acting at the same time so it was a little difficult but she turned out fine and successful.

Natalie Portman is an important person and role model to me because of all her achievements, hard work, and generosity to people in need. I really admire her for being able to be a great actress while studying at one of the best universities and giving extra help to people who need the support. She followed her dream, while being so successful, and graduated from a really hard college to get into. Natalie is also, in my opinion, a pretty well respected actress so I think that is really good. She is also an important figure to me because of her activist work. I learned a lot of things from her Natalie Portman like you can always follow your dream and get a great education and do charity work at the same time if you are truly determined to. She did an amazing job herself and I believe that anyone can have her talent and determination if they really try hard. I wish I could do everything she did because I love all animals and I would really like to give charity to the people that need it.
