Although my Dad doesn’t wear a cape or have any supernatural powers he is my superhero. My Dad is my hero because he is an honest and loving father that always has time for me. He shows great strength and perseverance every day in his life. He teaches me that family is Most important in life and not the materialist things. Nick Pucci is my Dad and he is my family hero.
My Dad loves to be around people and tell stories. He is happy and loving to me and my family. He had an accident 14 years ago and had to have 5 back operations and has permanent nerve damage which left him to be in pain every day of his life. I was just born when this happened so I have never known my Dad any other way. Because of this situation my Mom and Dad had to switch the traditional roles. My Dad stays home and my Mom goes to work. Despite his condition he always is thoughtful of others and puts himself last. These events has changed how we do things. We have to be very organized and plan our events so that my Dad has time to rest in between. He never says no he can’t do something for us, even though he knows he will be in more pain. We have all learned what it means to puts others before ourselves.
My Dad has quit smoking and quit taking his pain medication so that he can live a healthier life and be around longer for his family. From this experience I understand why it is important to keep your body as healthy as you can. His strong will and dedication to his family is something that I can only aspire to be like. I enjoy spending time with him building RC planes and cars and building Rockets and launching them. This was a hobby of his that he introduced me to when I was just 2 and have grown to love to share this with him. Because being in the water helps relieve pressure on his back he loves swimming and so do I. We spend lots of summer days in our pool hanging out. This is quality time together when we can just relax. One thing me and my Dad love to do at this beach is build sand castles and tunnels as long as we can.
I understand the view of the world to be that that we need to work around the obstacles life gives us. I know that things may always be perfect and plans don’t always get carried out exactly the way they start off but you need to adjust and make the best of the situation you have. We only get to live one life with the people we love and I get to do that with my Dad.
I value my Dad’s heroic qualities because I am learning that if you put your mind to something and have strong will to accomplish a goal you will be successful. My Dad is a peaceful person and it has always amazed me that he is always kind to everyone even though he suffers, this is why my Dad doesn’t need a cape to be my super hero. His supernatural qualities exist in our everyday life. I love my Dad!
