Nikola Tesla once said, "Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine." Tesla believed that whatever you do now will affect your future. You can control your future to what you wanted to be by starting in the present, making every single moment count. Nikola Tesla was born in Smiljan, Croatia and ,moved to America in 1884 where he conducted all his research and made all his inventions. He made important discoveries that helped humans. He created alternating current which powers many household items today, made countless generators, and discovered wireless communication. Tesla worked with Edison for a while but he left him to make his own laboratory. He was offered the Nobel Prize but he declined and reluctantly accepted the Edison Prize. Even though most people would stop after meeting a mistake or bad incident, Nikola Tesla believed that you should continue doing what you believe and don't lose hope in it. Tesla, with his intelligent and bold personality, is a great inventor and a motivational person. showing great perseverance, amazing intellect, and modesty one cannot fully understand, Nikola Tesla is a true hero changing many people, affecting them by bringing hope in them, inspiring to never give up and believe in your actions.

Nikola Tesla, who invented alternating current, is most likely be full of awards and popularity but that is not the case. Tesla created various tools that can aid mankind that many Awards chose to go to Tesla, but he rejected them because he does not think that they are necessary and one does not need awards to show they are one of the best. Tesla rarely associated with people, "his life was increasingly that of a shy, lonely recluse." (Gale Biography and Context). Tesla is shy and works better when he is alone so he can focus on what he is working on. He does what is best for mankind even though he is reclusive and likes to work solo which leads him to create many inventions, for example, he created the alternating current, which was a source of cheap, sustainable, and easy to access energy. Tesla, with his multiple inventions, compelled to have many prizes, but he is modest and rejects them, "He refused to accept the 1912 Nobel Prize offered jointly to him and Edison and reluctantly accepted the Edison Medal of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers in 1917." (Encyclopedia of World Biography). Tesla believes he can make devices that can help the world, but he does not want to be popular which could distract his work. He believes awards are merely a piece of paper or a ribbon to show off , and showing off may lead to establishing enemies or being self-centered. Tesla was a great man, who did not enjoy receiving medals and awards, he only believes in assisting the people of the world without making him popular or egotistical.

Tesla displays intelligence, proving it with his innumerable inventions. Tesla has an intelligent mind, using it for inventions that could help everyone in a huge way. "Brilliant and eccentric, Tesla was then at the peak of his inventive powers. He produced in rapid succession the induction motor (utilizing his rotating magnetic field principle) and other electrical motors, new forms of generators and transformers, and a system for alternating-current power transmission."(Scientists: Their Lives and Works). At the peak of his life, Tesla used his mind to create new tools that could help humans in any way. His life was centered on inventing, hoping his work can pay off. Tesla is one of the most intelligent people ever lived. It is easily seen that Tesla's inventions help us every day, making life easier. "Later he invented the Tesla coil and made basic discoveries concerning wireless communication." (Britannica Biographies). Tesla's basic inventions were a first in his time. His finding helped inspire more ideas. Without Tesla, many important discoveries won't be made until many more years later and we can thank him for his brilliance of coming up with all these tools. Tesla was the first man to create a generator that ran on moving water at Niagara Falls to create energy. This gave us a clean and cheap energy source. Tesla can be looked up as an important figure in today's life; his bright mind, kind soul, and overall intellect are what makes him great.

Tesla never gives up and doesn't lose hope even if there is little chance of succeeding. He persists and maintains a strong will, never backing down. Many times in Tesla's inventions or in life did he make mistakes or stumbles but he never stops there and continues on, pushing even harder before. "He was associated briefly with Thomas Edison in New Jersey, where he designed new dynamos, but the two had a salary misunderstanding and Tesla withdrew. "(Gale Biography and Context). Tesla had a large conflict with Thomas Edison but when he withdrew from the partnership, he did not stop from that. This fueled him to focus even more, showing great devotion to his work. He does what is best for mankind and pushes himself to go forward no matter what holds him back. Tesla has amazing willpower, continuing to push forward even if the odds of succeeding are against him. "After a difficult period, during which Tesla invented but lost his rights to an arc-lighting system, he established his own laboratory in New York City in 1887." (Dictionary of American Biography). With the loss of the rights to an important discovery of his, Tesla, discouraged, kept believing and with that he established his own laboratory. Tesla does not give up on something that is so important to him. What he does is fight on to keep his ideas and make them happen. Tesla has a strong will, stopping at nothing, and has a burning determination for the thing he loves the most; inventing.

Nikola Tesla displays intelligence and perseverance, believing what he thinks is best for mankind, never stopping at mistakes, showing what is truly best for everyone. Through Tesla's actions, his strong will inspiring people; his perseverance, his intelligence, his modesty, creates a great man and a model for all people. Tesla inspires me because he possesses what many people don't have, modesty. He believes he can help people even without having many glamorous awards showing him off and making him popular. His perseverance is something that is strong; he never gives up and strives for the best. He was a incredibly intelligent man. The inventive spirit, will to preserve, and the kind soul is why Tesla inspires me and others. These traits are something a true hero would have. The future is up to you to decide, it all depends on the present, so make every moment right now count.
