Nick Vujicic

Why Nick Vujicic is a hero is because he has perseverance, braveness, and selflessness. Imagine someone in a house. Flames flying out. A long red truck with flashing lights, red, white, and blue. Some people are heroes because they are famous or popular or saved someone but Nick Vujicic is different. Others might not consider Nick Vujicic to be a hero, but in my mind he is.

Perseverance is one of the qualities of Nick because he does everyday things even though he has no arms or legs. When Nick Vujicic was a kid he wasn't always depressed about having no limbs. He didn't spend his days moping around making people feel bad for him. He doesn't let having no limbs get in the way of his life. Even without limbs Nick does things a person with arms and legs would. The activities Nick does are writing, preaching, and swimming. These things would be hard to do with no arms or legs.

Braveness is seen in Nick because he spreads the word of God in many places around the world. Once when Nick was preaching he told everyone that they were loved and after the sermon a girl came up to him, crying, and said "No one has ever said they loved me" and asked if she could hug him. This moment touched Nick's heart and inspired him to preach even more. Now there are many different places that Nick has preached. Some of the places he has preached are in youth group, at his high school, and in 44 different countries across the world! Even though this has been full of suffering, Nick still spreads the love of God everywhere.

Selflessness can be used to describe what Nick has done.When Nick was a little boy he wanted to drown himself because of having no arms or legs. Then he paused, he thought to himself, What would happen to my family if I do this? He thought if he did that his family would be sad and they would think they failed as parents. One day someone told Nick that he had a preaching gift and he should preach at his school. When he said that, Nick really didn't want to. He was nervous but, he knew the man really wanted him to, so he did. When Nick preaches he preaches to encourage others, not for popularity.

Think about this, What if you were in Nick's shoes? If you were Nick would you preach? Would you be embarrassed? What would you do if you had no arms or legs? How would you feel if you were him, would you be mad at God for making you that way? Perseverance, braveness, and selflessness are shown in what Nick does.
