Nick Vujicic

“No Arms, No legs, No Worries” is the title for Nick Vujicic’s interview with Oprah. The 26 year old plans to lend everybody hope and inspiration, so when they leave, they will feel better about themselves and who they are. People would believe that his life was all good and great, but they are wrong. He was born into life without arms or legs. Doctors didn’t have a clue why he like how he was, but they thought he couldn’t ever walk. At a young age Nick felt that he was a burden to his parents and he tried to drown himself a few times. Soon he started to make friends and at the age of 15 he believed in Jesus. Then he started to learn that he could be a speaker and he started to help motivate all over the world. Through hardship and pain, too joy and happiness he continues to share about his life throughout the world and he doesn’t plan to stop until he fulfills his dream “To change the world” (Vujicic).

People never really understand somebody and how they live until they get a full background of their life. As Nick was born into the world his parents soon realized that he had no arms or legs. But at a young age his parents always were worried and stressed out over him. He tried to drown himself in a bathtub while he was still young because he felt as if he was a burden to his parents. School was a different story. He had a hard time fitting in and there were bullies everywhere. He was soon called a friend to many because they realized he was just like them. When he was 15 he gave his life to Christ. After that it went all up hill. He soon knew what his talent was, speaking. He started to motivate people to the point that they would cry. Then he started to learn that he could swim, play sports, and fish. Right now he is speaking as a motivational speaker and says his life is great as it is. Through hardship, to being a motivational speaker he seemed to many a deserving hero.

Nick Vujicic is a worthy hero because he has the strength to fight through having no arms or legs and telling people all over the world about his life. Nick said, “My dream is honestly to change the world. I know that sounds foolish. I know that sounds so big, but I have a big God.” (Vujicic). This is one of the reasons why he is my hero. He wants to change the world for good not bad and he has to do it with no arms or legs either. Nick brings tears to people’s eyes by saying, “Hope is priceless and nothing of this world can give you that hope” (Vujicic). He tells everybody that he gets his hope from Jesus Christ and he tells them this because earlier in his life he didn’t have any arms and legs but he had God. In all, he teaches everybody that hope and God only come through Jesus Christ in the end.

Nick is my hero because he struggles through his life and he couldn’t get through it without God. He gives credit to his parents by saying, “I am thankful, once again, for my parents and my family who were always there to comfort me and lend me their strength” (Vujicic). He tells people this because, as a child, he had a hard life with pain and sorrow but somehow he got through it with God and hope. He talked about his life by saying, “At the age of 15, I completely gave my life to Christ after reading John 9 (Vujicic). He shares this because through his life, even though he was born into a Christian family, he had a hard time getting to know Jesus because through a lot of time in his life he kept saying he couldn’t get through it. But somehow, with motivation God led him to do many great things in this world. Nick is considered my hero because all through his life he had many hardships that he had to overcome and that overall should be a reason why he is my hero.

Nick all throughout his life he has shown kindness to people no matter who they were or what there problems were. Words are just words but a quote from him says, “Again, my number one passion is for souls. I just love to go out and share my story and testimony wherever opportunities become available” (Nick Vujicic). This supports my topic that he is loving person and no matter what time of day he would help anybody overcome their problems and give them advice. Also this is one of the reasons why I chose him as my hero, because he is just willing to help and that is a hero that everybody needs. Even though he accomplishes so much he wants do more and proves it by saying, “Many would think these goals were too far-fetched. However, I believe that if you have the desire and passion to do something, and it’s within God’s will, you will achieve it in good time” (Vujicic). This personally is why I believe Jesus, all throughout my life I had problems, but somehow I always broke through because I had a God that does much more than sit down and watch, I have a God that cares. Overall Nick has been a proven hero, whether it would be helping them, or giving them inspiration, he has shown that anything can be possible with God.
