This picture shows a man without any arms or legs. If you saw him you might feel sorry for him, thinking how sad that man must be in his condition, but by looking at this picture you can see that Nick Vujicic shows happiness in dire times. The image shows him jumping into a pool with the biggest smile and his mouth wide open. It’s hard not to smile looking at it. The picture captures the true essence of Nick Vujicic who lives his life to the fullest everyday. Vujicic shows he is a hero by sharing the love of God while he encourages others to live their lives to the fullest. Not only has Vujicic overcome tremendous obstacles he shows the world inspiration and makes them want to follow his example of loving and using God’s gifts.

Nick was born on December 4th, 1982, in Melbourne, Australia without any limbs. Vujicic showed signs of depression as a child. At eight years old he had thoughts of suicide because he felt like a burden on his family and at age 10 he tried to kill himself three times. “He gave his life to Christ at 15 after reading John 9 where Jesus said that the reason the man was born blind was so that the works of God may be revealed through Him”(Nick Vujicic Inspirational Splash Go the Distance). At 19 Vujicic became a public speaker in Australia. “The way he (Nick) figured, everybody in the land Down Under had heard his story.” At the age of 23 he got his Bachelors degree. In 2007 he moved to Southern California, where “He quickly started a nonprofit outfit in Agoura Hills, Los Angeles County, naming it Life Without Limbs. He serves as president and minister. It took that long-distance move for him to appear on national TV in Australia for the first time” (Inspirational Splash Go The Distance). He now speaks around the world about Jesus. Vujicic says before he speaks, “I was born without arms and legs to speak with you today so that you can be unchained, then it's all worth it" (On a Mission to Inspire the Disabled to Greater Things). Vujicic still speaks all over the world motivating people and leading people to believe.

Vujicic promotes goodness by speaking on behalf of important causes to raise awareness. He shows God’s love by encouraging people in need and donating to worthy causes. “Through his ministry, Vujicic has traveled to 25 countries to speak -- sometimes to crowds of 100,000. He says that last year he flew 130 times and spoke at 350 schools. His organization says it has donated $180,000 this year to fight sex slavery in Bombay, India, to build orphanages in Africa and for other humanitarian causes” (Nick Vujicic's Inspirational Splash Go The Distance). Vujicic works hard to help people who are less fortunate. Nick Vujicic lives as an example of how everyone should live his or her life. “Pastor Vujicic is regarded as an icon worldwide. He was born without limbs, but preaches the word of God and draws attention to the plight of the underprivileged” (No Limbs Yet Not Limited). Vujicic is often called an “icon” which shows just how powerful one person can be. He is known around the world, because he speaks out for the people who need our help. Vujicic promotes worthy causes and works for the greater good.

Additionally breaking down barriers and overcoming obstacles shows the power of Nick Vujicic. Living without arms or legs has many difficulties but Nick’s attitude and perseverance is truly amazing. Nick said that "I prayed to God for arms and legs so many times, but He didn't give them to me. When God says, 'no' to something, He says, 'yes', to something greater," (Forgive, Says Aussie Visitor). Nick shows that even though he wanted arms and legs he understands that things aren’t always the way we want them and has a grateful and happy attitude about it. The plan God gave him turned out even greater than the plan he had for himself. There is no doubt that “Yes, Vujicic has no arms or legs, depends on three caregivers and travels in a wheelchair. But he contends that he's not disabled; he's plenty able. He can jump backward off a diving board into a pool, surf, play golf by holding the club between his chin and shoulder, play soccer and type 43 words a minute on a regular keyboard.” (Nick Vujicic's Inspirational Splash Go The Distance). He does not give up when he can’t do something; he just works harder. Vujicic has defeated the obstacles that get in the way of him living his life while continuing to keep his tremendous faith.

Nick Vujicic has inspired others to live for Christ. He helps them want to become better people. Vujicic loves to share his story and help encourages others. He tells people “God is using a man without arms and legs as his hands and feet” (Nick Vujicic's Inspirational Splash Go The Distance). Vujicic does not just preach about living life to the fullest, he lives it. Vujicic is being used by God to do extraordinary things. “He also encouraged the national leaders for people with disabilities and special needs and asked them to encourage one another and count it all joy, because God always has a reason for everything that happens” (Forgive, Says Aussie Visitor). Vujicic inspires others to live with joy and acceptant of disabilities. He encourages them to be happy for what God has given them. Vujicic motivates others to love and live through Christ. His attitude and way of life shows inspiration others can’t help but follow.

Nick Vujicic shows his heroic qualities to the world, through his speeches, works, and life he inspires others to be everything they can be. Vujicic redefines being handicapped he also leads people to Jesus. The world could use more heroes like Nick Vujicic. That is why Vujicic is an inspiration to me and makes me strive to give all I can to God and live my life to the fullest.
