Growing up limbless was much of a challenge. Nick dealt with bullying and hardships as many children and adolescents do, but he also struggled with depression and loneliness. Nick was constantly haunted by the question of why God made him different. He questioned his purpose in life, if there even was a purpose. However, Nick's family, friends, and many others urged him to keep the way of God in his heart and mind wherever his road may take him. According to Nick, his "Victory over his struggles can be credited to not only his close ones, but to his strong faith in God."

Not soon after he had graduated from high school, Nick embarked on his first evangelic speaking engagement at the age of 19. Nick has traveled around the world, sharing his and God's story with millions, sometimes in sold out stadiums, speaking to many different groups such as students, teachers, young people, business professionals, and churches of all sizes. And in 2007, Nick made the long journey from Melbourne to California. Today, 32 year old evangelist, Nick Vujicic, has accomplished more than most in a lifetime. He is an author, musician, actor, preacher, and owner of the non-profit organization Life Without Limbs.. And despite his disability, some of Nick's favorite hobbies are fishing, swimming, and painting.

In 2012 Nick did something he never thought he would. He proposed to his girlfriend and soon to be wife Kanae Miyahara. They were soon married in February of that year.  Kanae, his wife, says their relationship  is "Simply magical". "There was definitely a spark and a strong attraction from the first moments I locked eyes with Nick" Kanae remarked in a 2010 interview about their partnering book Love Without Limits. They have now been married for three years and have a two year old son, Kiyoshi James Vujicic. "I felt like a burden to my parents during my childhood, and I never thought I would be able to be married to a person without feeling that way". Nick confessed. But Kanae insists Nick is anything but.

Nick is the author of many books, an actor in two movies, an evangelist, and a devoted father. Being all of these things is hard enough for the average man, but Nick is no average man, he is limbless. However, that doesn't stop him from living a life without limits all for God. His devotion and perseverance for God has made him a world famous evangelist. Being born limbless pushed him to be the man he is today. An enduring disciple of God. "If just one more person finds eternal life with Jesus, it's all worth it." Nick always says. He lives by this motto and continues to save lives around the globe. This is why I have chosen him to be my hero.
