Neymar da Silva Santos Junior

A hero is someone who you look up to and makes you want to be a better person, and follow in their footsteps.

My Hero is Neymar. Neymar is my hero because he was able to inspire me and everyone who loves futbol, or as we know it, soccer. When I was younger, I was new to soccer and had no soccer idol to look up to until I watched Neymar play for the very first time. The way he moved, the way he acted when he received the ball, and the tricks he dared to do inspired me to be like him.

Neymar da Silva Santos, Junior was born on February 5, 1992 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, started his soccer career at an early age for Santos FC in their youth academy. At the age of 17, Neymar was promoted to the Santos first team with a professional contract. He helped his team win the 2010 Campeonato Paulista Cup with 11 goals, and finished the season with 42 goals in 60 games. After his outstanding season with Santos, Neymar was selected for the Brazilian National team for the 2010 World Cup. A year later, Neymar won the 2011 South American Footballer of the Year and FIFA Puskas Award,and then received nominations for the FIFA Ballon d'Or. In 2013, Neymar signed a 5 year contract with the world reknown FC Barcelona for $74 million. Former Brazilian player Pele, has called Neymar " an excellent player", which means a lot because Pele was the greatest footballer player of his time and now calling another player "excellent".

Neymar has given back to his community, by giving money and building soccer fields in poor areas in Brazil. Neymar has recently attended a charity soccer game, playing alongside Lionel Messi.

Neymar never let his team down, even when they are losing, he manages to give his team hope and they end up winning in the end. When he plays, everyone in the stadium stands to see what amazing thing he'll do. Neymar has never failed to please me, and he has made me a better player and a better person. Neymar is my Hero.
