Henri J. M. Nouwen is my hero.

He was bone in Nijkerk, Holland, on January 24, 1932 and died on September 21, 1996. He was a priest, author and professor. In 1985, he joined L'Arche in Trosly, France, which helps developmentally disabled persons live with assistants. There he was a teacher and student. He learned real love, devotion, and modesty.

He wrote a lot of books. After I read his book, I knew that he is a real brave person. Because he frankly said his handicap, and he confessed his weakness. He gave his friends including me deep love and friendship, above all he encouraged us to overcome our own weakness, just like JESUS did.

He said "By giving words to these intimate experiences I can make my life available to others." I think that he was a practical educator and a modest believer.
