Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is definitely someone to admire. She grew up in a hard life but turned out to be a successful person. She now owns her own television show called the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah is a very generous woman. I wouldn’t be surprised if she gave things away because when she was little she didn’t have many things. She worked hard for what she wanted to happen and her dream finally came true as she became a millionaire. Oprah is an amazing influence and model for many people. She’s more than just a human being to me, she’s my hero.

Her life growing up was difficult because she was raised on a farm by her grandmother. She was also abused and molested by her uncle. At the age of 13, she ran away. Soon after, she was found and taken to a detention home, but she was denied entrance because there were no more beds for her to sleep in. She was then sent to her father’s who made her read and write a book report every week. From my perspective, she dealt with things maturely because she barely complained. If you think you have a hard life, think about what she went through.

As Oprah started to become an adult, she became more and more giving. For example, she helped build houses for homeless people. This made a huge difference in their lives because now they don’t have to live on the streets. She teaches good lessons and we should take them into consideration. She listens to us and our problems so we should give her the same respect that she gives us and listen to her. Something I thought that was the most important thing she said would be, “Every little thing counts”. Another saying I thought was inspirational is “One person's trash is another’s treasure”. This means that if you have something you don’t like anymore, give it to the people who don’t have enough money to have that, donate it to them.

She is kind enough to donate things to anyone. She is a good example for everyone. She can show you how to make a difference. Also, she can show you things you’ll need in life like, a good heart. She can’t give you a heart full of good deeds, but she can show you how when you do something good, you get something good in return.

If Oprah Winfrey made a difference in everyone’s life, then we’d have an amazing world. I know she made a difference in mine so think about what she says and listen to her like she listens to us and our problems. You’ll see how your life will change when you listen to her.
