Bobby Orr was born in Parry Sound, Ontario in 1948. His High School was Parry Sound High School. When Bobby wasn't on the ice he played other sports and did homework. He lived with his dad, Doug Orr and his mom, Arva Orr. Bobby's birth date was March 20, 1948.
Bobby started to play hockey when he was 4 years old. When he was nine, he won the Pee Wee M.P.V. award. Bobby was a great hockey player and he was drafted by the N.H.L. When Bobby Orr went to the N.H.L. he played for the Boston Bruins. He started out as number 27 but then changed to number 4. He was a powerful player. He was a defenseman, but he also scored many goals. He set the world record for being the defensemen who scored the most goals.
Bobby was a very powerful player, but he had many knee injuries. He had 14 knee surgeries and he still played hockey even though it was very painful. Bobby was only in the N.H.L until he was 30. Bobby was traded to the Chicago Black Hawks just two years before he retired. Bobby was forced to retire because of the pain in his knees. He was only 30.
Bobby inspired kids around the world to play hockey and get active. He used his fame to encourage kids to play hockey and to not play video games. He helps with lots of charity golf tournaments. Bobby also visits kids in the hospital to help cheer them up. He is in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Bobby Orr inspired us to play hockey even when we're hurt. We also like to help little kids play hockey just for fun.
