Pancho Villa |
Doroteo Arango, now known as Pancho Villa, was born on June 5th, 1878, in the Rancho de la Coyotada, one of the largest haciendas in the state of Durango, just below Chihuahua. His parents Agustin Arango and Micaela Arambula were sharecroppers on on the hacienda. His parents didn’t own the land they farmed, they shared the land with the hacienda owners, the Lopez Negrete family. The reason why I think Pancho Villa should be considered a hero is because he is a tough, responsible, and brave man.
Pancho Villa is a tough man to me because even though some people thought he was the bad guy and some thought he was the hero, he never gave up and kept on going. This shows that he was a really tough man because he never let others put him down. Pancho Villa known as the “Mexican Robin Hood” in the United States who fought to improve the life’s of peasants without ever giving up his cause. This shows that he was really and truly tough for his people.
Pancho Villa was responsible with his people but especially with his family. Pancho was the oldest male of the family, so when his father died all of his father’s responsibilities lay on his shoulders. Something I thought was responsible of him was that Pancho’s life as an outlaw began when he was only 16, when he fled to the mountains after revenging his sister. I think that was responsible of him because he took responsibility for revenge when his family was harmed.
I consider Pancho Villa brave for so many different reasons. He led the first years of the Mexican revolution with his army of rebels in the northern part of Mexico, I think you need someone real brave to accomplish something like that. He joined a gang with Ignacio Parra and Refugio Alvarado when he was only 18. The two bandits told Villa (in Spanish), “ Look young man, if you want to go with us, you have to do everything that we tell you, we know how to kill and rob, we tell you this because you should be afraid.” Do you think this scared Villa? Well it didn’t, because he was too brave for that stuff. Soon after Villa joined the gang, the bandits prospered as Villa led through the way with his bravery and brains.
