A young Paul McCarteny

James also known as Paul was born on the 18th of June 1942. Paul was born in Liverpool, England, of Walton Hospital. He had a mother named Mary, he had a father named James "Jim" McCartney, and he has a brother named Michael who was older than him. His mother worked as a nurse and his father had worked in a church. When Paul was twelve he met a kid named George Harrison while riding the bus to an institute. Later on they ended up both playing in the famous band the Beatles.

Stockton Wood Primary School

James Paul attended Stockton Wood Road Primary School in 1947. After his primary school he went to Joesph Williams Junior School. Paul passed an exam that only three people passed out of ninety students. He then was gained a pass to the Liverpool Institute. By passing the exam he was allowed to go to Grammar School instead of regular secondary school.

The Beatles

When Paul McCartney was 15 years old he met another teen named John Lennon. They had build a close relationship and had formed a band to follow their musical dreams. McCartney invited his old friend George Harrison to play the lead guitar. After they got Lennon's friends Stuart on bass and Pete on drums. They had formed "The Silver Beatles." They had toured Scotland and then made the name "The Beatles." The Beatles were led around by their manager Allen Williams. After one of their performances, Stuart Sutciffe left the band and McCartney stepped in as bass. The Beatles kicked Allen out and found Brian Epstein who became their new manager. Brian didn't think Pete Best was good enough on drums so he replaced him with drummer Ringo Starr. The Beatles became really popular in 1963 but they wanted more fame so they brought their music to the USA in 1964. The Beatles had enough of music and fame so they broke up in 1970. After the Beatles Paul recorded music with a band named the "Wings". Later on McCartney was inducted to the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" in 1999.

John

Paul found that his former bandmate John Lennon was murdered. Paul was really shocked that someone would do such a thing. McCartney didn't play a concert for a long time after the incident.

Paul's friend George Harrison was fighting cancer and wasn't doing well. Harrison died died 29 of November 2002. The last thing that happened was Paul's wife, Linda McCartney. Paul said she gave him strength and courage. They had four children. Linda then died of breast cancer in 1998.

Paul McCartney loves to paint. He wanted to pursue his love of art so he watched Willem De Kooning paint a piece of art. Paul had studied painting in 1983. He had painted portraits of John Lennon, Andy Warhol and David Bowie. In October 2000 Paul and Lennon's wife Yoko Ono presented their art in New York
