My hero is Picabo Street. She was born on April 3, 1971 in Triumph Idaho. Picabo was the second child of Ron "Stubby" Street and he worked as a stonemason. She was the daughter of Dee Street, a music teacher and she had an older brother Roland "Baba". Picabo Street is very hard-working and determined to reach her goals. When skiing in Vail, Colorado she fell on Pepe's Face and after 7 months in the hospital she recovered and took the first gold in the 1998 Winter Olympics. She also has other injuries and yet stays with ski racing.
My hero survived several ski racing injuries and then won a gold medal later. My hero's heroes are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dale Earnhardt. Some of the challenges she faced were getting in ski racing injuries and facing defeat.
She made a difference in my life because I ski race, and she inspired me to stay with ski racing even when I have an injury. I want to be an Olympic gold medalist when I get older just like Picabo. Her determination helped. Even if I get hurt, I won't quit skiing.
My hero, Picabo Street, made a difference in my life and probably made the same difference in someone else's life. Picabo Street is hard working and brave. She also is very dedicated to ski racing. I want to be able to do what Picabo Street does when I get older.
