Pat Tillman (www.steinski.com) |
I think a hero should be brave and caring. He or she should also take care of our planet. My definition of a hero is a famous person who is known for helping us. They should be able to help the world. They should do things that let us remember them for what they have done.
The hero that I picked was Patrick D. Tillman. I picked Pat Tillman because instead of being a pro football player, he went into the army. He was an army ranger. Pat was ranked as a corporal in the army rangers. He died in Afghanistan at night by friendly fire. He got an award called the Silver Star which is awarded for bravery in action.
Pat Tillman has done a lot of important things like being an army ranger at a young age. He was brave by going to war and helping our country. He was drafted to the Cardinals as a 7th round pick. He died on April 23rd, 2004. He was a great army ranger at a young age.
Pat is important to me because he was a great person. He was also a great football player. When he was going into the army he thought about his family and his country and not himself. Pat made a difference in my life by giving me courage to care about other people first and then for myself. He also helped me find my bravery, to not be scared if I am doing something for my country. I hope you liked my story about my hero that I chose.
