A hero is a person who has heart, courage, and bravery. A hero tries to help other people, he doesn't think just of himself. I think everyone has a real hero inside, you just have to let him out!

My hero is a medical doctor and a professional clown. He has traveled around the world to bring laughter, hope and joy to hundreds of patients. His name is Hunter Patch Adams, and he believes that “the most revolutionary act one can commit in our world is to be happy.” Being happy might be the most important health factor in your life.

Patch Adams was born into the rule-governed military way of life by his father. Patch Adams grew up having many friends, as his family moved to many different countries. He entered pre-med school, then three years later, he entered med school at the Medical College of Virginia. He loved going to the hospital and making the patients laugh. His teachers didn't like his way of tending to his patients.

Years later, Patch and some friends founded the Gesundheit Institute, a free health hospital in West Virginia. “Gesundheit” means “good health” in German. Over 150,000 people have been provided free medical care at that hospital.

Each year he invites a group of volunteers to travel to Russia as clowns, to bring laughs, health, and lots of smiles to orphans, patients, and other people. Patch Adams has saved millions of patients throughout the entire world. He doesn’t need money, just a couple of jokes and a clown’s costume. Patch has written books that can help you understand fun and love.

The movie, Patch Adams helped people to be informed about this “clown doctor” and his dedication to his patients, and to making them laugh through his jokes. This impacted health care around the world and inspired people to discover what joy the joy of service feels like. Patch has worked for 30 years to change America’s healthcare system, a system that is expensive. His goal is to make more free hospitals in the USA and the world. And to bring smiles, hope and happiness through to entire world.

I think Patch Adams is a great example of a man who had to fight for what he has and continues fighting for what he wants. He wants a better world for everybody. Patch reflects his happiness through jokes. Patch Adams has a big heart, with courage, and he helps people. He has all the characteristics of a real hero. By doing what he does, he brings hope to thousands of patients. Patch Adams makes me think that everyone should fight for a better world. Helping those who needs it will make you a hero.
