One of the most famous people started out as a regular kid like everybody else. This hero grew up at a poorly conditioned street in Brazil. He played soccer and made it the best sport in the world. His name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, or as the world knows him, Pelé.
The hero that I chose was Edison Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé. He was a world famous soccer player. He was born on October 23, 1940, in Trệs Coraçòes, Brazil. Pelé is known as a national hero in Brazil. His talent was discovered by football player Waldemar de Brito. He began playing for a soccer club called Santos Futebol Clube at age fifteen and his national team at age sixteen. Pelé won his first World Cup at age seventeen. Pelé became known as “The King of Football, The King Pelé, and The King.” He is in the American Hall of Fame as best Brazilian soccer player. He also helped the Brazilian National Soccer Team to victory in the FIFA World Cup in 1958. He is the only player in the entire world to be awarded 3 World Cup gold medals. He mad the sport what it is today.
Pelé made a difference in soccer history by inspiring a lot of professional soccer players. He made the sport what it is today. He inspired soccer players around the world to try their best and never give up. He also inspired them to put effort into everything they try and to improve as much as they can. Pelé also dedicated his 1,000th goal to all the poor people in Brazil. It is said that he inspired the Brazilian soccer player Ronaldinho into trying his best and becoming the best player in the world. After his retirement, Pelé went on and continued to inspire people all over the world. He is honored in the Maracaná Stadium for best soccer player that changed the game completely. From 1975 to 1977, he was also brave enough to come out of retirement to make the sport popular in the United States. He fully retired on 1977. Even during retirement he still helps people. He does a lot of charity for children. He also took up acting after retirement. He starred in a few commercials for energy drinks and anti-drugs.
Pelé is a hero to me because he also inspired me to try my best in soccer no matter what. What motivates me about this person is that he proved that anybody, even poor people, is able to be great in any sport they want. This person will change the way I put effort into soccer and teaches me that I should be confident, even if it looks like I can’t win. He also got me into playing the sport since I was four years old.
This is why I consider Pelé my hero. He showed me the sport of soccer. He also showed me to never give up. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be playing the sport for ten years. He inspired me to try my best like he did and that’s what made him my hero.
