Pocahontas

Do you know this famous person? Is she your hero? In 1517 Pocahantas was born in Virginia. Her real name was Motoaka. Her dad was chief Powhata. She had older brothers and sisters. When she was little her mom left and took Pocahontas with her. Pocahontas returned to her dad later on. Later her mom died from a sickness.

Pocahontas did not go to schools. She went to England and learned how to read and write. She got very good at reading and writing. She had no schools in her tribe. Her mom was trying to put Pocahontas in a school, but before she could even do that Pocahontas went back with her dad and her older brothers and sisters.

She did not have many places for a job. She did not have a career. She loved to swim and was very energetic. She played with her family and friends, but played mostly with her older brothers and sisters. She loved her brothers and sisters so much.

Pocahontas was very famous because she helped John Smith. She worked very had trying to survive. She was a princess and everybody wanted to meet her when she went with her husband. She had a baby one year later with her husband. They named him Thomas. Thomas Rolfe was her son.

This person inspires me because she helped people. She died when she was only 21 years old from small pox. She died on March 21, 1617.
