Roald Amundson

Roald Amundson was the first person to walk to the South Pole with sledges.

My hero Roald Amundson was born in 1872. He lived in a quiet cottage in Norway.

Before Roald Amundson walked to the South Pole he made sure he had everything he needed. He brought along sledges, huskies, warm clothes and a group of men. As soon as he got there he put up a Norway flag to show everyone that if they decided that they would go to the South Pole they wouldn't be the first.

I think Roald Amundson was the first to walk to the South Pole because he had a dream and used bravery. I picked Rould Amundson because he is interesting.
