by Steve Betts

Rosa Parks was born, Febuary 4th, 1913 in Tuskegge, Alabama. She attended the Alabama State Teachers College and then found a home in Montgomery with her husband Raymond Parks. Rosa Parks took a public bus home from work and was asked by a white man to move closer to the back of the bus, Rosa refused, she was arrested and fined because she violated a city ordinance.

Smart - Rosa Parks was smart because she knew if she didn't stand up for her right to sit where she wanted to on the bus nobody would. She knew she would make a difference.

Couragous - Rosa Parks was couragous because she stood up for her right as a human being and a woman and didn't move for a white person when she was supposed to.

strong willed - she was a strong willed because she didn't move for that white man she stayed where she was because she knew she had just as much as a right as the man standing over her waiting for the seat.

Rosa Parks was very brave and took a stand to end racism and did what she thought was right. That is why she is called the mother of civil rights.
