A hero to me is someone who helps other people and makes a big difference. My hero is Ruby Bridges.She changed schools from being segregated to integrated. Ruby was brave enough to attend an all white school.

A long time ago Ruby had went to an all white school and stood up for herself. Ruby grew up on a farm with her parents and grandparents. Ruby was the first black child to attend an all white school. When she was older she wrote a book called "Through My Eyes." Ruby Bridges was born on September 8, 1954. Ruby has both, brothers and sisters.She grew up in Mississippi. When Ruby was born she was a seven pound baby. When went to kindergarten she went to Johnson Elementary.

During her life Ruby Bridges had several accomplishments. One accomplishment was that she started a Ruby Bridges Foundation to end racism. Another accomplishment was that Ruby became a travel agent. Most importantly she attended an all white school and made a big difference.
Later in life, she got married and raised four boys. Ruby wrote a book about her childhood called "Through My Eyes." She went to William Frantz Public School to do volunteer work as an adult.
In conclusion, we see why Ruby Bridges is a hero to so many people. She made a difference by ending segregation and being courageous. Ruby made the right choice to believe in herself going into William Frantz Elementary School on that November morning. Most of all, one small hero can make a big difference.
