Roald Dahl was born on September 13, 1916 in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales. He had lived in Norway until a year after his father Harold Dahl died, which was when Roald Dahl was only seven-years-old. Then he moved back to Wales and attended British schools until he turned seventeen. Roald Dahl wrote a book Boy which was about his childhood memories. His childhood memories show up in other stories like The Great Mouse Plot where Roald Dahl and his friends put a dead rat in a gobstopper jar, and The Wizzing Boy was about a boy riding down a hill with no hands on the handle bar of his bike. Roald Dahl had 3 sister Astri, Alfhild, and Else. In 1920, Roald's sister Astri had died from appendicitis when she was only seven year old.

From 1943-1990, Roald Dahl has been writing from children books to adult books, but Roald Dahl gets most of his ideas from either old or new memories. Here are lots of children books Roald Dahl has written: The Gremlins, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory , The Magic Finger , Fantastic Mr.Fox , Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator , Danny, the Champion of the World , The Enormous Crocodile , The Twits ,George's Marvellous Medicine , The BFG , The Witches , The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me , Matilda , Esio Trot , The Vicar of Nibbleswick , and The Minpins . Roald Dahl is very inspirational and talented in his work. His books can be funny, enjoyable, and page turners. That's not the only reason why Roald Dahl is a hero. Roald Dahl is my hero because he also helped kids with brain disorders.
