I wrote an essay about my hero Robert Stanley Dyrdek. There are many accomplishments he has obtained in his life, and I would like to share them with you. His qualities are that he is selfless, he learns from his mistakes, and is courageous.
Here are some examples of his selflessness. Once, Rob saw a homeless man in California and gave him clothes. Happiness filled his heart, so he gave many random people in need clothing. Also, he started a foundation called Street Legal Skateboarding, known as SLS. SLS is meant to promote legalization of street skateboarding and help people in underprivileged countries by donating skateboards to them. Another program he started is called SK8 4 Life which raised $550,000 for under privileged kids in Los Angeles, CA.
Courage is another quality that he possesses. An example of this is when he was on a mission to break as many skateboarding world records as he could, and broke 22 world records. Another courageous act was when he got sponsored for skateboarding by the companies DC, Alien workshop, Silver Trucks, and Monster energy when he was only 16 years old. New things can be a challenge but Rob is not afraid to try new things, like when he rode in the Breeders Cup in 2012.
Even this amazing guy, named Rob Dyrdek, has had some humiliating moments that he has had to fix. When he built his first skate park the project was rushed through. It had a terrible design which made it hard to skate on. When he realized how dreadful his "Safespot Skatespot" was, so he rebuilt it and made it skate able and better.
Great people such as Rob have helped many teenagers across the U.S. by adding some fun activity to keep them out of trouble. We should all love the way he has encouraged people to donate to charity and to help others. Rob Dyrdek is my hero because he is courageous, he learns from his mistakes, and he is selfless.
