The Egyptian swimmer Rania Amr Mostafa Elwani, who has got the title, "The Golden fish" by the media, is my hero. Rania was born on October 14th,1977 in Giza, Egypt.
Rania has trained for 17 years at El-Ahly sporting club. She was a member in the Egyptian Olympic Committee. She was also the first Egyptian Arabic African swimmer.
Rania made great achievements as she won two golden medals in the Mediterranean since it opened in 1951. She also won 77 medals in the Arabic, African and national championships. Moreover, She was one of the best 11 swimmers in the world in the Race 100 Meter. Rania has also competed in three Olympic Games: 1992 in Barcelona, 1996 in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney.
Two days after the end of 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Rania Elwani retired from swimming at the age of 22 .
