Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was born in the year of 1913, February 4. She was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and died in October 24, 2005 in Detroit, Michigan at the age of 92. Her occupation was as a civil rights activist. The U.S. Congress called her the "Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement."

On December 1, 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks refused to follow one of the laws. She had refused to give her seat up to a white passenger. She was not the first colored to do this action. But her action inspired the "Montgomery Bus Boycott.” All this wouldn't have happened if all rights were equal for colored and whites. But since it wasn’t, the bus drivers had to the "powers of a police officer of the city while in actual charge of any bus for the purposes of carrying out the provisions." The bus drivers were required to have separate but equal rights for whites and colored by assigning seats. Colored people such as Rosa Parks were required to sit on the back of the bus and give up their seat to a white person if they didn't have one. The bus would also have a line in the middle of the bus to separate them. When an African American person was going to ride the bus they had to get on through the front door to pay their fare and then get back off and get on the bus through the back-door of the bus. To me this was not being fair or it wasn't even having separate and equal rights it was just being racist.
Rosa Parks was nice and caring, but when it came to sticking up for what she believed in she was protective. After she was released from jail the same day she was arrested, which was on December 1, 1955. She was released because her husband Raymond Parks paid the fee. She was to go to court three days from her arrest. She was expected to pay a fine because she had broken the law but she didn’t agree with that. In my opinion Rosa Parks didn't break the law because if not giving up a seat to a white person is a law, then that was a dumb law. So after she went out free but still with a court pending, African Americas were planning a bus boycott, which meant that little by little they were all going to stop riding the bus. They did this thinking that if they stopped riding, the bus companies would notice a big change in their money so then they would hopefully be fair to all passengers. Obviously Rosa Parks was involved since she was one of the many that wanted to change the world.
Rosa Parks was an awesome woman is what I was trying to say. She is my hero because she was triumphant in many ways. She changed my life and I look up at her. She changed my life because if she hadn't been part of everything people did to change the world and end racism I could have been living in a place with it still. But thanks to all those people who helped change the world and actually stood up for what they believed was right.
