All around the world people suffer from starvation and not many people do anything about it. Richard Proudfit is one of the people who did something about it. He founded an organization called Kids Against Hunger. They go around the world and feed starving children. Every year 15 million children die of hunger. Since the organization started over 75,000,000 meals have been served.

Richard Proudfit was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1962. His father owned a restaurant and was the chef. He was obsessed with feeding starving starving children. In the 60's Proudfit visited Honduras, where thousands of adults and children were left homeless and starving. He tried to feed most of the children. After he came back from Honduras he decided that he wanted to help kids like that all over the world. Proudfit started his business in his garage. Richard Proudfit started this company and fed children world-wide, he went to many schools to talk to children, and gave many children homes.

In 1979 Richard Proudfit founded the organization Kids Against Hunger which sends rice, vitamins, minerals, and vegetables to starving families all over the world. They have 98 locations in 27 U.S. States and Canada.
