Richard Rasmussen, born in 1975, is a Brazilian biologist of Danish descent. He is passionate about animals and the environment.

He makes “Extreme Wilderness,” which is part of the TV program "Spectacular Sunday” on the TV Channel Record. In this program he shows different kinds of animals and places, he teaches a lot about the animal he is talking about, shows the natural habitat and helps us learn how to deal with them.

He decided to expand his activities, creating the “Turtle House” where he has more than 500 reptiles, 400 birds and many mammals of the Brazilian fauna. Recently, he added to the “Turtle House” a section for treatment of children with mental diseases. His five-year-old son has a mental disease and after he discovered the power of animals in the treatment of his son, he decided to give opportunities for people who cannot afford to pay for treatment.

For me, Richard is a hero because of his way of dealing with nature; he is a brilliant biologist and he also helps the people who cannot pay for their children's treatment.
