My personal career hero is Rachael D. Ray. She is a cook. I want cooking to be a passion of mine, it is actually very inspiring. But, right now it is just a hobby. My mom was watching television and Rachael Ray’s show was on. She told me to watch, and I just loved it. I watch it all the time. It was about one or two years ago when I became interested in the culinary arts. I like cooking because it is like art, but with food. I like her career because she owned a restaurant with her family. My mom and I want to do that. So, I think it is interesting that she had that experience. I also like that cooking can be creative, and she isn’t afraid to try something new.
Rachael Ray has her own television show called, “30 Minute Meals.” The education requirements are years in culinary arts school, which I want to go to as of right now. The salary varies with what job you end up doing, from working in a restaurant to owning a kitchen to having a television show. Jobs in the culinary arts have a pretty good salary. This is just an idea right now; I might not even still want to do this in a couple of years.
You would have to be pretty artistic, to design and make different cultural foods. Also you would have to like to cook. You would have to be good in school but not amazing. Cooking can also be experimental so you would have to be creative. Also you wouldn’t go to college you would go to culinary arts school, and learn cooking ways, tips, and ideas from there. Culinary Arts School counts as a college, though just a cooking college. Rachael Ray grew up working at her family’s restaurant and got involved in food from there. After working there long enough she found out that she really liked cooking. Her life went up and up from then on.
Then, she decided to get involved with cooking. She found out she wanted cooking to be her job, her career. Rachael says she doesn’t cook very often at home. It helps others by helping them learn how to cook, if they are interested in that. Cooking doesn’t really contribute to society, unless you count the millions of people eating it of course. Cooking opens a lot of doors to different restaurants and opportunities around the world.
I want to of course finish high school with good grades. Then, I would not go to college because instead I would be going to culinary arts school, if I could afford it. I would then like to maybe get a job at a restaurant. Working in a restaurant would prepare me for a job in the food industry. Later I would want to open a restaurant with my mom; it’s kind of been a little fantasy of ours. This is all just a dream. Rachael Ray is my personal career hero.
