A hero is a role model, someone you look up to and who will always help you in times of need. Rick Riordan, a role model for all. An author that has many bestseller books read by many. His books are even sometimes start a young child's reading adventure. He is the author of the Percy Jackson series and the author of the Kane Chronicles. He is also a teacher that taught English and history at San Francisco Bay Area and in 2002 he was honored with a Master Teacher award. He is also my hero.

My adventure started with The Lightning Thief, the first book of the Percy Jackson Series. When I first saw that book in the third grade I knew I had to check it out. And that was the start of a great adventure. From there I read all the books from the series and so on. Back then I wasn't a very big reader, but Rick Riordan change that. With his well written books I started an exploration for big and better books. That was the start of something beautiful, a reading adventure.

Rick Riordan didn't just start being a great writer from the start. He had an educational job before that. He was a teacher that taught history and English and I believe that experience from English gave him his start. Education is an important thing in today's society. It's what brings fame and knowledge. Even Rick Riordan's books aren't all fiction. His books include all kinds of mythology and that helps to educate his readers.

The definition of a hero cannot be explained in words, but I shall try. A hero must have leadership, someone you look up to and someone who will always save you.
