Dr. Zimmerman

by Amir from Essex Junction

Dr. Rhea Zimmerman is a producer, chiropractor, pro-activist, wife and most importantly a volunteer. She lives in Napa, California with her husband; they are both chiropractors. When she first started volunteering, it was only in high school for a call center for children, but as the years progressed, her volunteering did too. Why did she start volunteering in the first place? Well, when she was in high school she volunteered for class points, but now she volunteers because she wants to be of service and she loves helping people out.

Dr. Zimmerman and her husband both run the Blossom Life Project. The Blossom Life Project is a trip that they both go on.They travel to Peru for five days where they do free chiropractic adjustments to children, veterans and people with PTSD and all ages. But she didn't just one day say, " Oh, let's go to Peru and help people." While she was still in high school, she started organizing her own trips. The last time they were in Peru, they helped over 2,600 people. When she was in Peru one year, she helped this old lady that thought that she would never walk again, but Dr. Zimmerman helped her and that was one of the happiest moments of her life.

When they go to Peru they help many people, but they can't help them all, and that's what Dr. Zimmerman hates the most about volunteering, that she can't help enough people. The Blossom Life Project has been going on for about four years, and Dr. Zimmerman is making a documentary about her travels to Peru; it's called Love Bomb.
