Rob Dyrdek

by C.J. from Poquoson

This is a story about Rob Dyrdek, a professional skateboarder for a skateboard team and a famous shoe company. Rob Dyrdek has his own TV show called Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory. He is a role model for kids and is extremely brave.

It all started when Rob was eleven and he saw some kids were skating outside. He had a skateboard in his garage. He decided to try it out and started skating in his garage. He went pro after a lot practice. Having enough credits to graduate after his junior year in high school, he went to California during his senior year to start skateboarding and filming for his brand. He later went back and graduated high school with his senior class.

Rob acts brave all the time even if he doesn’t feel brave. He acts courageous when he is trying to traflip or backside flip on a staircase. He shows a lot of his bravery on his show, Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, when he jumps in the foam pit. Even though it is only foam, you could sink into the bottom. It would be hard to breathe. You could also do what Rob’s cousin, Christopher Pfaff, aka Drama, did, and get speed wobbles from going too fast and end up falling and breaking your neck. Rob is such a daredevil, which shows his bravery. Even the way he drives his T-Rex, is courageous.

Rob is also daring because he is always trying something new. Some of these new adventures include blobbing, jumping a rally car 100 feet, and breaking the world land speed record and 25 other world records that he broke in 2009. Rob has also done some zip-lining, which is pretty brave.

Rob is always having fun with the people in the Factory. He is one of my favorite skateboarders. Rob Dyrdek is important to me because he helps out skateboarders that don’t have a safe place to skate. In June 2005, Rob opened the Kettering Skate Plaza, a place for skaters to workout. He raised the money and designed the plaza. As a skater, I really appreciates this idea. Rob has helped the skateboarding industry grow up and expand to all kinds of people all over the world. He helps other people try skating even if they aren’t the skater type. That is why I picked Rob Dyrdek for my hero.
