What do you think it feels like to be the best tennis player in the world? Roger Federer is a man who has won every grand slam at least once and has won a gold medal in doubles. Roger Federer should be considered a hero because he is hard working and has reached his goals, he is very generous, and he is a good example of how a tennis player should act on the court.
Roger
was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1981. He is currently 31 years old, is
married, and has two twin girls. As a child, his favorite tennis player was Boris
Becker. Also as a child, he would get frustrated easily. When he was watching
his favorite tennis player play and he didn't make a good shot or lost a point,
he would get mad. Roger would also get mad at himself when he was playing
tennis and was not playing well. Roger's
accomplishments are that he won a gold medal in the Olympics for doubles. He
was a also the champion at the Australian open for the years 04, 06, 07, and
10. Roger won his first French open in 2009. Roger was the U.S. Open champion for
the years 2004-2008. He was also the Wimbledon champion 03-07 and 09. He also has been
the number one player in the world and is currently ranked number 3. All his
major achievements have occurred in China, England, France, Australia, and the

Roger should be considered a hero because he is hard working and he reached his goals. "At the age of ten, Roger came under the tutelage of Peter Carter, a former tennis player from Australia. For the next few years, Roger spend more time with his new coach then he did with his own family" (Jenson, Jeffrey). Roger worked very hard and stayed focused on his goals. If he was spending more time with his coach than his own family then he is truly working hard. Roger works very hard to get the record for the most grand slams. "Federer this time went 77 games to beat Roddick. 5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 16-14" (Gale Biography and Context). It's too bad that Roddick couldn't get his second grand slam. Roger only broke Roddick's serve once that whole match.

Roger
Federer should be considered a hero because he is charitable. "In addition
to his achievements on the tennis court, Roger also involved himself
with charities including the Roger Federer Foundation. He also started the
Roger Federer Foundation, he travels to Ethiopia in February to visit a school
which is supported in the Roger Federer Foundation." (Jenson, Jeffrey). Tennis players are very busy and they
don't have much time to spend with their own families. Roger is also giving
them his valuable time. He spends a lot of his time traveling to tournaments
around the world. He is in his own home about 60 days a year. "The Roger
Federer Foundation supports projects located in the region of Southern Africa
and Switzerland." (Roger Federer). The foundation that Roger founded helps
the people in Switzerland and Africa. In Africa they want to improve the quality of
early learning and that everyone has at least a basic education, In Switzerland
they want to do the same but for the children that don't go to school because
of poverty.
Roger Federer should be considered a hero because he is a good example of how a tennis player should act on the court." Over time, Federer learned to keep his emotions under control."(Biography Today). When he was younger he would become frustrated and throw his racket. Now when you watch him play it looks like he doesn't even care when he has so much pressure. 'More importantly, however, he has become a true tennis great because of his keen mental acumen on the court." (Jenson, Jeffrey). In tennis it's not just about being physically strong. You need to do both to succeed. That is what made Roger such a good player.
Roger Federer is heroic because he is hard working and reached his goals, very generous, and he is a good example of how a tennis player should act on the court. I have given many good reason of why he should be considered a hero. I hope that after reading this or hearing this that Roger becomes a hero to you too.
