I first heard of Rex Hudler when I watched my first Angels baseball game on television. It was in 2002 when I was watching the angels in the World Series and I heard a man talking in the background. I asked my dad who was talking and he said that was Rex Hudler. I asked him, who is that? He said he was a baseball player for the angels from 1994 - 1996. I started to listen to him more and more and I liked the way he talked about baseball and the way he described every play that was going on. Another reason I like listening to him is because I like baseball very much and I want to be a part of baseball when I grow up.

Rex Hudler was an All-American as a wide receiver at his high school in Fresno California. He was supposed to go to Notre Dame and suit up for the football team but he got drafted by the Yankees in the first round right out of high school. So he never went to school at Notre Dame, he went on to play with the Yankees. He is featured in the video game mlb: the show in the years of 06, 07, 08, 09 alongside other commentators like Dave Campbell and Matt Vasgersian.

In high school, Rex Hudler was a three-sport star. He played baseball, football, and soccer. Rex got 25 scholarship offers from colleges for football. He chose Notre Dame to suit up for their football team but he got drafted by the New York Yankees right out of high school. That is where his career started. He played 14 great years of baseball with 6 different Major League Baseball teams. After he retired from baseball, he became the color commentator for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Rex Hudler married a woman named Jennifer and they had a boy. Rex's son is now ten years old and he is doing great. But he was born with Down Syndrome. "Rex is also the president of the non-profit organization, Team Up For Down Syndrome, which raises money for public awareness, housing, education, job training, family counseling and health care for those living with Down Syndrome." Rex Hudler currently lives in Tustin California and he travels with the Angels so he can go to every single game that the Angels play.

When I grow up, I want to be just like Rex Hudler because he was a good baseball player and I love to play baseball. He also is a very nice man and he does a lot for his community. To be just like Rex, I have to set some goals to accomplish. My first goal is to make my high school baseball team, then make my way up to varsity and play until I'm a senior, then keep on playing baseball until I get signed by any team that will take me. After I play about 10 years in the Majors, I want to become a color commentator for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim which is my favorite team. Then, when I get old, I want to settle down and start a family.
