Robert Craig Knievel

by Kenny from Hillside

Evel Knievel was born in mining town Butte on October 17 1938. Later on, when Evil Knievel was 8 years old he saw a Joey Chitwood daredevil show, and that inspired him to live his life doing crazy stunts on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Evel Knievel ended his high school years as a sophomore and ended up working at anaconda mining company where he worked as an earth mover operator and was later promoted to the surface earth mover. He was later suspended for driving an earth mover into the Butte main power lines which left the place without power for several hours.

Evel Knievel got in trouble with the law for a police chase in 1956, in which he crashed his motorcycle. Knievel was then taken to jail, but despite repeated run ins with the law, everyone in Butte liked Evel Knievel even the police. In the late 1950s Knievel joined the U.S Army and returned to Butte Montana and then married his first wife Linda Joan Bork. Knievel then got a son and named him Kelly Knievel. Evil Knievel died in clear water Florida on November 30 2007

In 1993 Knievel was diagnosed with hepatitis C from one of his many operations. Knievel needed a liver transplant in 1999 as a result of his condition.

Knievel had no way to support his family and then recalled the Joey Chitwood motorcycle show he saw when he was 8 years old , Knievel was going to jump a twenty foot long box of rattlesnakes and mountain lions. Knievel landed short of the boxes with rattlesnakes in them but managed to escape unharmed. With every awesome and successful jump, people wanted him to jump one more car, truck, or Helicopter.
