Rocco Francis Marchigeino was born on September 1,1923 in Brockton Massachettes. Rocky was a 190 lb. hevyweight boxer and held 4 titles in the 1950s, Rocky is the only boxer in world history to retire undefeated. Rocco Francis Marchigeino (a.k.a Rocky marciano) didn't expect to box until 1943 when he was drafted into the army. He took up sports to avoid being assistant cook. He had natural hand ability as an amateur. Rocky had a try-out with the Chicago cubs in 1947, but was cut because of his throwing accuracy. His baseball dreams were over, but his boxing career was just begining. Rocky got everyone's attention when he knocked out 16 opponents in a row. Everyone didn't expect Rocky to be one of the greatest boxers in the world, people thought he was too skinny, short and old. Rocky retired in 1956 as the only boxer to retire undefeated, he died in 1969 in a fatal plane crash.

Rocky inspires me because even though he didn't accomplish his baseball dream he made another one. His build didn't keep him from doing what he wanted, he just did what he did and became a famous boxer. That's how he inspires me.
