Rodney Mullen

Rodney Mullen was born in Gainsville, Florida on August 17, 1966. He started skateboarding at the age of ten and turned pro at the age of 13. He also has made over 32 tricks over the past few years including the ollie, primoflip, handstand primoflip and more.

When Rodney was young he wanted to skate but his dad wouldn't let him. His dad finally agreed under one condition: he had to wear his protective gear and if he got hurt he would have to quit skateboarding.

Rodney Mullen is my hero because he inspired me to start skateboarding and become better at it and try harder tricks. To me, he is the greatest skateboarder alive.

Rodney Mullen has created his own skate company, "Almost," which includes Ryan Sheckler, Daewon Song, Chris Haslam, Greg Lutzka, Cooper Wilt, William Patric and Rodney Mullen himself. He is a hero because he inspired a whole bunch of younger people to start skateboarding. Every compitition he has, he donates money to the children's Make A Wish foundation for all the sick kids there.
