Matiur Rahman

A hero is a person who helps people around him and makes the world a better place to live. Heroic people can do the biggest or smallest deeds. They can be your friends or a person you do not even know. Heroes have many traits such as fearlessness, open-mindedness, selflessness, humble, bold and loyal. Matiur Rahman of Bangladesh is known for testing the T-33 plane and he died testing it.

Matiur Rahman was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh on February 21, 1945 and died on August 20, 1971. Matiur was educated in Dhaka Collegiate School. As he went through, he was very interested in the Air Force. When he got older, he joined the Pakistan Air Force Public School. Matiur Rahman never had a wife or children.

Joining the liberation war was one of Matiur Rahman dreams. Matiur Rahman was appointed a jet pilot in Reshawar, Pakistan. Matiur was only a minor and was not allowed to join the war and needed to prove himself. Matiur’s goal was to join the liberation force with the hijacked T-33 Jet during a training course. Driving the T-33 was dangerous because it could blow up when you are flying or it gets destroyed. This was a very dangerous mission. When Matiur Rahman tried to take control of the T-33 or the blue bird, he failed. The plane crashed, and Matiur Rahman was found dead.

Matiur Rahman is a hero to the Bangladesh people because he was daring, life-giving, and fearless. He had those qualities because he did something out of the ordinary to help people. He was selfless and caring because he did something no man had ever done. Matiur never gave up because when he hijacked the plane, if he couldn’t do something he did not give up. Matiur was always devoted to his work. That’s how he became a pilot. Matiur didn’t want to join the war to fight. He joined because he wanted to help people. He is a hero.

In conclusion, a hero does something not because he wants to be famous, he does it to help other people. Heroes are people who are daring, life-giving, selfless and fearless. Matiur Rahman is a hero to the Bangladesh people for his heroic actions in a time of war. Matiur Rahman is a hero to me.
