SEEDLINGS EDUCATORS COLLABORATIVE FEATURES MY HERO IN BLOG

LAGUNA BEACH, CA – 03/29/17Seedlings Educators Collaborative is helping to bring MY HERO resources into Connecticut classrooms. The collaborative recently featured MY HERO in the Seedlings Educators Blog.
Seedlings Educators Collaborative is a Connecticut based non-profit organization that brings together educators from public, parochial and independent schools to share knowledge and skills. Workshops hosted by the collaborative offer teachers a break from the demands of the classroom while they learn new strategies for teaching students how Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM), and other disciplines, relate to each other in the classroom and in life.

STEAM curriculum focuses on inquiry-based learning, which is fueled by the student’s natural curiosity and calls upon to the type of problem solving used in adulthood. Creative problem solving is encouraged through the iterative design process, problems or questions are posed and solutions are sought through the process of investigation. Ideas are created, tested and refined.
In the supportive environment of the workshops, teachers work with science mentors, museum educators and architects to develop innovative STEAM curricula that meets state and national standards. These workshops help forge supportive relationships and collaborative groups that help teachers throughout their careers. Seedlings Educators Collaborative also has a wealth of online resources (http://myhero.com/teachersroom/index.asp) for teachers and administrators.
