My hero is my teacher. She is such an inspiration to me because she takes time out of her life to teach kids and give them a good education. I also got to interview her. Her name is Stacy Norton and she is a teacher at Baker Central School in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. Personally I think that Mrs. Norton has courage, hope, and a loving heart. She is so special because she is funny and smart and she does a lot of cool things with us even though she does not have to. I feel very fortunate to be one of her students.

In interviewing Stacy I was told a lot of neat things to share like her childhood, her teaching career, and her kids. I found out that she has been teaching at Baker for two years. In her whole teaching career she taught for three years. She was born in Hagerstown, Maryland. The school she previously taught at was in Greeley, Colorado and she taught 5th grade. She only taught for half a year though. The school was called Christa McAuliffe Elementary. She then moved to Ft. Morgan. In Baker teachers teach 5th and loop with their students to 6th grade. So, they are with the same students for the two years that the students are there.

She has three kids Tyler, Quincy and Maddy. Her kids say they like her being a teacher, but Maddy said that she would rather her Mom be a stay-at-home-Mom.

In 6th grade Stacy wanted to be a lawyer. Then throughout high school she preferred to be an accountant. I am so glad she didn’t become a lawyer or an accountant because honestly, I love being taught by her.

As a child Stacy was a straight "A" student. She has one brother and he is 18 months older than she is. When she was in 3rd grade she first thought about becoming a teacher. She also said that she had no regrets about becoming a teacher. Right now she volunteers with her kids, goes to groups at church, and she supports her students. Stacy got her teaching license in 2005 and taught her first class in 2004. I think Stacy should be considered as a hero because she tries so hard to help kids with their education and I think that is special.

I think Stacy Norton is a community hero because when someone needs help she is always there to help people no matter what it is. She volunteers at church groups and also does school stuff with her kids. She also helps kids after school mostly on math. She is also my science, math, and homeroom teacher so I am with her most of the day. She thinks that she is a mom hero because she helps her kids in everything, school work, field trips, and at home. I think that when you put these together you get a CHILDREN'S HERO!

Mrs. Norton is a great person and should be recognized all over the world for her sensitivity, honesty, and the fact that she is so nice. She is a wonderful person and I am glad she is my hero and my teacher!
